depends on what kind of cramps you mean.

leg cramps are caused by lack of sodium and potassium in your muscles. drink lots of water while you run, or sports drinks that have sodium and potassium in them,

side cramps are caused by improper breathing. take long slow breaths while you run, and breathe from your diaphragm. if you can talk while you run you are doing it right. some people like to sing to themselves to help control their breathing.

Get a lot of potassium in you before you do an easy five. Make sure your root has water fountains or carry a water bottle. The biggest thing is to stretch for a long time when you are done.

Eat one banana a day. Seriously. don't drink too much water directly before. and the banana thing. trust me. (even if im just some random person on the internet. but give me this at least, i am runner and i know. bananas work.)

I know it sounds crazy, but before I exercise, if I can, I have sex. This seems to loosen up my muscles, therefore, no cramps.
