Of course! Yes, you would be wasting your time applying to Harvard, Stanford, or Princeton (unless daddy has a pile of money or is an alum), but state universities will probably accept you, many of the smaller liberal arts colleges are not all that competitive in admissions, and in any event you may have some skill or experience that it turns out they value for diversity.

Yes Community College is good choice and an opportunity to improve on the GPA and brush up on your study skills --and maybe get a higher SAT Score. But I think a 23 is a solid, average range score, and that's nothing to be ashamed of...you certain can succeed at college and you don't need to start at CC to do that (I am a great advocate of CC's) if you want to try a University or four year college.

I would suggest you work with your HS guidance counselor, if you can visit a few second and third "tier" schools -- ones that are not rated as extremely competitive -- and check out state universities in both your state and in other states. Look for a place that has a supportive approach.

But you've shown you're not stupid, you CAN succeed and yes you can get in too! GOOD LUCK!

well college yes, and state universities are a good bet? it always depends. also a note: college is smaller than a university (no graduate school/programs included)
community colleges i heard were one of the best choices out there since you can get all your General Education done in 2 years and then move on to a uni to study something with more focus and u dont have to sit in a class with 500 other kids learning some chemistry or biology that you ''shouldn't'' need to work that hard in

dont worry, tons of opportunities! having potential and/or capability is what gets you somewhere

Yes you can go to college with a 2.5 GPA -- but your best bet would be to go to the Local Community College for your 1st 2 years of college.

Most Community Colleges are good schools -- and the biggest advantage of them is the class sizes (most do not have those massive Required courses Lectures sessions -- but rather individual instructors in smaller size classrooms), you can use your time to improve your skills, there are plenty of opportunities at the Community Colleges for being Tutored, having times set aside for follow-up assistance, and they are more geared to students with not strong academic records, or to students that are non-traditional (like for example, my local Community College does have special sessions on the weekends and evenings for working adults, and encourages Senior Citizens to go back to school too with special offerings and discounts for their attendance).

Sounds like you should look at going to a community college for the first 2 yrs. I didnt have the best grades in high school and now I'm in a community college Paralegal program and I've made the deans list... that will look good if I ever decide to go on to a 4yr school

In a manner you do have a stable factor. Bit as for stunning now and on your college occupation GPA will ehlp pay for college. The extra you have in scholarships the less out of pocket you have or, the less in pupil loans. I had a pal that had a 4.0 she have been given a scholarship that paid for a minimum of two yet perhaps 4 years of college, plus a suitable of the line lap-suitable and a few different issues. exceedingly remarkable...want i ought to bear in recommendations the call of the schoalrship for you. So particularly extra valuable grades = extra decrease priced training.
