What make-up brand do you recommend that is best for starters? Like 12 and 13 yr old...

I would start with NYC they have good makeup for girls that age..and just stick with some eye shadow and lipgloss to start with!!!

I think for about 12 and 13 years old girls. The most important for this age is to keep the skin clean and healthy. According to your skin type and use the right skin care products. If you want to apply on some color, lipstick / lipgross (natural color) is enough. Skin care products and color products, I use Avene in between season changes. The rest of the time, I use Shiseido and it was my first make up brand too.

A great begining makeup line is Clinque....besides getting tons of free samples, they provide a great line of basic colors and tools. It's a nice natural look they provide at a decent price.
Once you master the skin care and play with the makeup, step up to the fun brands; Stila, Benefit, Lola, Hard Candy, etc.

i dont think the brand of makeup matters as much as the type of makeup youre putting on. at that age, you can use very light eyeshadows, blush or lipgloss. dont go too crazy, you'll end up looking silly, and if you get in the habit of wearing too much makeup (like foundation and powder) every day, you'll ruin your skin and look even worse when you get older. but when i was that age, lip gloss was my best friend, haha. use the lip smackers brand, it was my favorite. there were so many different types to choose from and they came in really good flavors. have fun! =]

Maybe start out with a light color lip gloss until she gets used to putting it on carefully, and then try an eyeshadow or two. Clinique is still favored by teens, but I think MAC is a better product and has a full color range. Skin care is important so maybe a foamy cleanser and a toner would be a good start. Don't wear make up unless you have to. Just start out with a shiny lip gloss and work your way up as you get older. It makes you skin break out. Let your natural beauty shine through.

for something less expensive, i like the four pack eyeshadows from icing.
for lipgloss victorias secret has the BEST lipgloss!!!! 2 for $10;)

the best make up out right now is called bare essentials it is made from minerals so its all natural. but its alittle pricey.

Bare Essentials...its natural and has SPF...it also is not as heavy as a liquid concealer...more natural
