what do you think about the next rock legend?!?!?
well, the pop-punk era is over. it reached its peak last year around july. the green day era is over. their new record was awesome, but it wasn't punk. and we they do that, they killed pop-punk and and punk rock and pop rock in one fell swoop. the nirvana age was over along time ago. there was the metallica age. there was the van halen age. there was the freakin guns and roses age. then punk was born with the sex pistols and them. then the jimi hendrix age. and the elvis age. you see, rock always resurrects itself, wether as metal,or punk, or pop,or grunge or whatever. all the bands i named have the kind of thing were you just sit down and listen to their record and its very nostaligic, even if you haven't been listening very long. i just wanna know what you think the next great rock legend is. i bet any american kid would love to. women, fame, respect and money. im dying for originality. i want to be that legend. what do you think?

I've been asking myself the same- or at least, a similar- question.

The big new genre- I know, it started in the 80s, yadda yadda yadda- is emo, which in my mind is kinda shitty... A lot of music today seems to be more emotional and crap as opposed to political or looking for change. I personally hope we can get past that. Until we know the genre, we can't know the legend. Maybe some kind of fusion of genres- reggae rock, rap rock (NOT like Linkin' Park, cause they suck), or a mix of rock genres- metal's guitar+punk attitude and political lyrics+ a bit of grunge's emotion which manages feelings without overkill)= ???

Answer that question- what's the next big genre/movement?- and you'll be able to answer your own.

Yea Queens of the Stone Age ****** rocks. I think Tool is easily the next legend and the best band out and maybe ever. The reason they are better then zeppelin and pink floyd...they arent and will never be sell outs...Rise Againts? dude we are talking legends not lame bands that u will get sick of in a year or 2.

Rise against. Pure rock. Sweet guitar riffs, awesome vocals, occasional drum spectacularities (if that's a word) great bass. Everything needed to live on forever. Look em up
