It depends on what 'feet' and what 'mile you are talking about.
A statute mile contains 5280 statute feet ; a nautical mile contains 6080 statute feet. ( A knot, a measure of speed at sea, is one nautical mile per hour . So a speed of 50 knots would be equivalent to 57.8 statute miles per hour etc. etc. etc.) Then there are French feet and miles , Old American/English feet and miles, Australian feet and miles and my favorite the South African foot and mile.
Everything has been pretty well standardised by now but a Land Surveyor can get in real trouble if he is not careful when converting old measurements to new distances.
Something that George Washington (A Surveyor) laid out as a distance of 100 feet would be very unlikely to be 100 feet today.

Depends on how many people are in said mile. Typically two per person. Unless there is a charity walk for amputees in progress, then the number could vary. 5280
