I was just wondering because I know that for men it can harm the sperm. And that being pregnant it can harm the baby. Would it affect a women that wants a baby if she took a bath everyday with hot water? It isn't a complicated question.

Taking hot baths or getting in a hot tub won't hurt you or a potential baby when you are TTCing. The only thing that may happen is if you are charting your basal body temperature, it may cause a false rise and make it difficult to detect ovulation. Only if you are in for a long time before bed or something.

Other than that, hot tub all you want while TTCing--just stop if you think you are pregnant or could be pregnant.

My doctor told me it is okay to take hot baths while pregnant, but to tell my husband that hot baths/hot tubs etc...are a no-no for men if TTC-Since their "tools" are on the outside of their body, the extreme heat can affect the sperm.

Turned out fine for me.... I need my nice warm bubble bath at least 3 times a week (I bathe daily, didn't mean to sound unclean). We concieved within the first week of trying. I asked my doc about taking baths when preg. too (am 23 weeks), he said it isn't really a problem, just not too terribly hot.

It is ok to take bathes and hot tub while trying, Try not to week of ovulation. Even early in preg. heat can damage baby, even cause miscarriage. Also wearing thongs during preg. and always can lead to a vag. infection. Good luck on baby. Found answer on website www.babycenter.com/expert/babyphysrecovery

You should ask your doctor. I've never heard of it harming anything if you're not pregnant yet.

No dont take hot baths or go into a hot tub. The temp. of the water will raise your body temp. and then in turn effect your baby.

You're making it waaaaay more complicated than it needs to be.

If you're relaxed and content in life, you will most easily become pregnant. When you start trying to find ways to MAKE yourself pregnant you'll find it impossible.

I cannot think of a reason why it would cause problems. :)
