is wiring a jacuzzi, just wiring a pump? or is there more to it. is the voltage 120v or 220v. and what about the amperage?

A jacuzzi and a spa are two different things. A jacuzzi (whirlpool tub) is usually a 20A 120V circuit. A spa (hot tub) can vary a lot. There are some that plug in to a normal 120V outlet, and I assume they take forever to heat. Most are 240V and can be as high as 60A (maybe more). This answers your question, but I hope you don't plan to do the install yourself. There are many code (safety) rules regarding both that should not be done by someone without the knowledge. Water and electricity are a deadly combination.

now, hold on pardner! they are both right! the tub in the bath that acts like a Jacuzzi is 110. The more than one person, big boy version uses220/50amp. It has to be a gfi. lowes sell them

most whirlpool tubs use 120v 20 amp circuit to run the pump. most codes require a ground fault circuit.
just to be sure look at the name plate on the unit you want to install.
