That is a dang good question. I love cabbage, but sometimes, man........

Cabbage contains a lot of that stuff that makes you pass gas (I can't think of the actual name right now) so when it's cooking, it's releasing some of it which is why it smells. After you eat it and it goes through your system, that gas goes out as flatulence and everyone notices!
