I think you've already got the deck of cards against you. You're only 16 years old and you've already had a child! You can't even take care of yourself and you've brought an innocent life with you. Chances are, your baby is going to be taken away from you. You should finish your education, let your baby live with your parents while you settle things for yourself. If you don't have an education, how are you going to support yourself and child? THINK THINK!!!!!

check your state laws and make sure you have to be 18 I think in virgina you only have to be 16 to get married. JUST make sure you are able to support yourself and the baby. I understand where you are coming from, except my mother was very helpful and try to get as much help from the government as you possibly can. like medical cards, food stamps, wic (womens infant and children) programs. Call your local cabinet for families and children system. If you don't know where to find it just call your local health dept. and they can point you in the right direction. Best of luck to you and if you need any more help or advise being a young mother just e-mail and I would be more than happy to help you out. God Bless you and your new baby!!!

get lawyer or go do to the family law center in your state or look it up.. good luck to you but if your boyfriend isn't making more than 30,000 a year yall are going to struggle and that will lead to divorce and then you'll be back on your moms doorstep or you'll be living in poverty on section 8.. So what is better listening to her rules or being under the control of the governments favorite drug of choice for underaged minors welfare.. all i can say is that you need your mom more than you need your baby daddy. becuase my lil sister got emancipated moved to mississippi and moved with her baby daddy/ husband he rather have his weed smoking buddies around wasn't no help in changing diapers feeding the bay and etc. so now her wanted to be free tail is back at home with her mom and that was only one month of marriage and her freedom.. stop being sassy and disrespectful to your mom listen her get your tale out of highschool take your but to college or JOBCorp's and make a better life for your child so that at 25 you'll have money to raies him well and not have to stuggle and be in a unhappy marriage and you mate leaving you because yall have fantasized about how good it will be to be married and on your own . but once those bills and rent start kicking ya butt you'll see how much of a struggle your mom went through when she was your age its not easy its hard as heck . talk to your mom before you make that decision.. think about it cus you'll regret that emancipation decison later in life..

the law varies depending on what state u r in. i think that in some states just being a mother legally emancipates you already.
if u can get parents to support the decision it will be easy. without their approval u may have to go through a court battle trying to prove that u will be better off away from your parent(s)
my wife was only 15 when i married her. (12 years ago) her parents supported it, though, so things went fairly smoothly through the courts.

Hire a lawyer (got a good paying job?), file papers w/court (got filing fees?), prove to the court that you are a good parent (how good is that lawyer?). I'd suggest that you take all the help you can get. Why should your mom help you out? It's not her fault you got knocked up.

Please consult an attorney. Most will not charge for just a consultation. It will probably be a long drawn out process and you will not want to try it on your own. Good Luck.

Wait until you are 18 in order to get married and start with a new life as an adult.
