Keep in my it's not the school's or teacher's responsibility to pass class.... it's yours. Teachers are taught how to teach and have to take state exams to prove their skills.

I know there's lots of students out there who just think that it's the teacher or school's fault when they fail - but 99% of the time, it's because they don't study or think they can just 'wing it' through the classroom. School should be enjoyable - but passing or failing is up to the student.

Teachers can only do so much--they are responsible of disseminating information and communicating in such a way that students can understand; but students ultimately are responsible for passing their studies at school. If they do not do their work, a teacher is completely within their right to fail them. As far as I know, there are no laws requiring that teachers/schools ensure their students pass.

I would say that state school board websites usually have information regarding education law.

Ummmm....Parental support is the Golden Key - not legislation.

Many parents work in conjunction with teachers to support kids. Sometimes - some children are not academically inclined. They are not bad kids nor are they stupid. Formal education may not be for them.

Have you tried to learn the causes (not the symptoms) of the apparent problem?

Might there be a learning disability that hasn't been identified?

Good Luck to You. Stick with it. Your kid(s) will be much farther ahead in life with strong home base.

I don't know any details, of course, so throw out what doesn't apply. No offense is intended.

Good News! You will succeed if you persevere.
