It was a question on an extra credit sheet for my speech class, and I wanna know why volume F of a British Encyclopedia be borrowed from most libraries? Anyone please help!

I know that some reference materials can't be checked out, but this question was looking for something more specific, like about that particular volume or something.....

i don't think any of the encyclopedias or reference books can be checked out....

Not only the volume F. All reference books are not allowed to be checked out of a library.

I can't be 100 % certain on this, it is judged entirely on one set, but it makes sense. The volume refers to a numeric term:- Volume 1 = A, Volume 3 = C-Ch, Volume 7 = F. Volume F does not exist it is Volume 7 (in this case - probably, it will vary).

I agree. I think it is b/c F is probably part of another volume or maybe b/c F is split into two vols. like the letter "S" is.

It's probably a trick q. Maybe there isnt a volume f, maybe it is part of the pervious volume
