Why do we noramly only get to have babies one by one?

Because humans have BIG heads because we have bigger brains than animals.... BIG heads make birth more painful and complicated.
Also, the pelvic region and birth canal smaller due to fact we walk upright on two legs... unlike animals.

It takes too long to raise them to a self sufficient state. Well, that's one theory any way. Kittens only take a couple of months before they are weened so they have big litters. However, if this were the case, you would think that cows would have more calves. that kinda puts a hole in that theory.
Perhaps it has more to do with the size a human baby has to attain prior to making it's entry into the world (same with cows) and the mother's capacity for "expansion."

Because human babies take a lot more time and effort to raise - at least 15 years compared with a few weeks for most animals.
Also, human babies arent under as much threat as animal babies so the animals have to have more of them to ensure their survival.

human are unique. and for that it should lead to that. what happen if human give birth to 5 - 10 babies at once. think it twice so you will know why.

Animals can do intercourse in open, can you do that.
