You are free to conduct business within the market. The market dictates how well you do assuming there is competition.
If your business in the market violates the public trust, then government must step in.
To think that either party supports a true free market economy is being naive-- both parties subsidise markets, business and society.

truly free market economies don't work
they end up with just a few people controlling all the resources
not much different from fuedalism
that is why we have restraints and manipulations of the "free" market

A free market economy is a good thing until somebody gets greedy. The oil company's, the health care system are good examples of this. I go by the premise that you get a little, and I get a little and the people at the top get a little more, everybody is happy. But when one of us gets greedy it is no longer a good thing.
