Probably to a city where there wasn't a lot of competition. Many have left their homes to pursue their dreams in places like NYC, Memphis, LA, NO and others.

But with good equipment and a computer, you can work on music in a dorm room - so I don't think it matters that much, unless of course someone would be seeking the aid of others.

It all depends what you are looking to work on. Obviously, certain areas are better for certain genres (i.e. Nashville for Country, Lousianna for Jazz), but if general rule of thumb: Any City is a good place to be (NY, New Orleans, LA, etc)

If you are talking about a city, Los Angeles. BUt if you are talking about recording and practicing, a basement will do just fine.

i could additionally like to correctly known this, seems each and all the places close to the venues are severe crime factors or very high priced. Dont use craigslist! i attempted advertising for band contributors on there and in basic terms have been given timewasters and weirdos contacting me. seems to be the criminals standard place

Harlem or in the NYC subway stations. Someone will introduce to many big names, and if you're all that good you may even get signed.

Basement - someplace quiet/private, unless you need to get out for some inspiration.
