*Preen works very well for weed control. Just get the weeds out and sprinkle it on the ground according to directions. It comes in a container with a sprinkle spout and you can buy it at Walmart or most any garden store. It's easy to use and it really works. I didn't have to weed my flowers all summer after appling Preen.

In Texas, you put down any crabgrass pre-emergent Sept 15-30.
Reapply in April.
The whole idea is to PREVENT this crap weed from coming up in the first place.
Once the nighttime temp stays above 80, spray the weed with MSMA every 10 to 15 days. It has to be hot for the product to work,
It is a great idea to apply a high nitrogen, slow release fertilizer to boost rest of lawn,
You could spray with Round-up now, but it will kill all the other desirable grass too. Use extreme caution with this product.
