Horse costume class?

What are some really cool ideas u have used for costume classes and are costume classes ussually with on riding the horse or leading the horse

are you asking for a costume for you or the horse or both

You would generally ride your horse during the costume class, but most of them are little more than just walking and trotting since you wouldn't want your horse to be spooked by another horse's costume.

The idea's that I have used is Arabian Knight, Ice Princess, Hippie, Gothic Rocker, and a Clown.

Here are some other good idea's though that I have seen done in my years of watching these classes: Ring Wrath's from Lord of the Rings, Grim Reaper, Mouse and Elephant, Flower and Bumblebee, Cat and Mouse, Peanut and Mouse, Arabian Princess (looks really cool if your horse is an Arabian), Cowboys, Indians, a Zebra and Cave Women (if you can find a non-toxic body paint to use on your horse to make the Zebra stripes), Bride and Groom (with your horse in the tuxedo), Country Bumpkins (rednecks)...

There are so so many more great ideas out there. But the best thing you can do is think of something from one of your favorite movies or books.

Another thing that can make these classes really fun, especially for the judges, is if you bring them a present. For example, when I did my clown costume, I went bouncing into the arena and gave the judge an ice cold coke. And when I did my Arabian Knight costume, I gave the judge a red rose.

Not sure if you mean an arabian show or a costume class for a fun show where it is a dress up thing. If a fun show, I have done a few fun costumes that did well in the showring.

circus horse. I had a grey arabian mare and would use a gold and royal blue bridle I created out of material and rhinestones over a leather bridle that had a bunch of feathers between her ears, would ride bareback and I would wear a matching leotard with sparkles.

Another one that I have done was a knight. I would make fake armor with tinfoil and cardboard over her tack and would wear a fake tinfoil armor suit with a cape..

both of those did well and were fun.

When I hear costume class involving horses I go right to the Arabian costume show that comes around once a year duing the All Arabian Horse Show. It's always been a ridding event. I've never seen a halter class in costume. Back in my younger years, I've showed costume many times and my horses and I looked just like Arabs. There's one other kind of costume show and that's a Peruvian passo class and then you show in top hats and claw hammer tail tuxes holding a glass of champagne showing they're smooth gates. Any of your dressage shows, most are dressed up like Englishmen and women

You could put a 'shell bra' on, connecting to...the girth maybe?
And fins would look cute
Vines in the mane
Though the costumes that went over well last year was a: Ballerina, Robin Hood, and Harry Trotter

I have done to versions of costum class's for show:

Silk and silver: Where the owner dress's the horse in a theme and 75% of the material needs to be silk and silver. I have seen people do: Wheel of fortune (two wheels on each side that light up as the owner being the hostest lady). I have seen eqyptian theme, warrior theme etc.

Then there is "fav memorial": Dress the horse to a theme and play music.

I have done : Marine (as I am in my ROTC Dress Blue uniform) carrying Marine Corps Flag as my gelding is dressed up in the Marine Colorguide Equine regulation materials. Played to Marine Corps Hymm.

I have done Wedding Where I am in a wedding dress and my horse is the "gentlement" carrying me to the alter. (hat to the side, tux tie on his breast colar. Music to : Ready to run by Dixie Chicks.

I have done beach theme as I am dress in hawaiian flowers, shorts, t-shirt as my horse has oversized glass's, surf board on side, beach ball on back of his hind quarters, flowers on him music to "Surfing USA" by the beach boys.

I have seen people do American themes, flowered themes, dress their horses in loli pops to the loli pop theme.

My step sister rode to "standing outside the fire" by Garth Brooks with a flammed shirt, chaps with her horse dressed with flames in the mane/tail, saddle blanket and bridal attire etc.

dress the horse like a motor bike and the rider like a hells angel. bet it's never been done before.
