First of all: Considering I have heard a couple sources condemn ALL Republicans based on the actions (or inactions) on the part of Foly and this Dennis Hastert guy (who!?!?). My question on this is: Can not a Republican be a moral person, although he be a Republican?Or a 'Christian Conservative'?

Second of all: Can you prove, logically, and with gooooooood reason, that ALL Christian Conservatives and Republicans in general are morally bad people, based on their political 'allegiance'?

And Finally: WHAT is so 'HORRIBLE' about the Fox News network? Is there something actually immoral about having a discussion on TV that actually represents the Republican view when for decades Liberals have dominated the air?

And now, as I will ask people in future questions, I beg of you to PLEASE at least TRY to keep it nice...?

Before I pick a best answer, I thank you for answering, although none of the answers I saw actually logically proved that republicans are bad, and most were avoidances of my questions.

Also, to Tom. I was not implying in any way that liberals are incapable of logic, but merely asking for reasonable and logical proof that backs up what so many liberals these days are saying.

Also, to those who seem to be a bit confused. This was aimed towards those of the left who think Republicans are bad just because they're the other party. Those who don't look at things reasonably or logically, but rather politically.

To 'Answerman': In no way do I support the bad stuff that goes on, but rather, I support most (not all) of the morals 'my' party puts forth. My main reason for supporting the Republicans is that, for the most part, they don't hate guns in every way shape and form like most Democrats do. (Just to state: guns are our only good way of defending against criminals, because most criminals carry guns)

To 'NY': "One nation, indivisible, UNDER GOD"!!!!!!!!!! Our nation was founded by christians, and if you don't like it, that's fine, but please don't try to force that opinion on me.

To answer your first question: All people, whether Democrat or Republican, can be a moral. What Foley did was no more morally reprehensible than any other politician, that has gotten caught, has done. Republicans or Democrats are not perfect. It just seems that each party loves it when someone in the other party "messes up." It's politics and the American people have to be able to discern for themselves which party represents their true way of thinking.

2nd question: I am a Christian but I don't agree with the way Republicans handle their politics. To me, they seem to "use" Christian views and values to get votes. I believe in the separation of Church and State. No, I don't believe Republicans as a whole are immoral any more than I believe Democrats are immoral. Politics, in itself, is sometimes immoral. But your average American citizen who votes Republican or Democrat are not necessarily immoral. I know alot of people from either party and they are good, decent people who love their country and stand by their beliefs.

3rd Question: I don't like FOX news because I believe they distort the truth and they are not Fair and Balanced. It is obvious they have a political agenda that I don't agree with. But I have a choice to change the channel and that's what I do. I want the truth when I watch the News not politically motivated opinions. If I want that, I'll watch a talk show.

These answers are my opinion. I'm not "far left" nor am I "far right."

If you don't know, you will quickly find out; if you ask a question of the 'far left' or 'far right', you cannot 'beg of you to please try to keep it nice'. It's like asking a starving lion not to eat you.

In answer to your first two points: The majority of both 'middle-of-the-road' Democrats and Republicans are moral, (and probably Christian) people.
It's their LEADERS who are not so 'moral' or 'Christian'.

Point Three: Fox News is morally corrupt. They have 'expert analysts/commentators' (the same stooge faces every time) who cannot find one thing wrong with 'Honest George' and this is when nearly 70% of voters think he is doing a bad job? They are trying to 'fabricate' news, instead of 'reporting' and/or 'analysing' it.
Example: The Foley case: According to Fox, this matter has become a media circus, but they are the only channel that is agonising over it. The other channels rarely mention it these days.
And every time they 'agonise' over 'poor' Foley, whining 'Why did this scandal break just before the elections?' their conclusion is: It's a Democrat plot!!!!! Morally corrupt!
'Is there something actually immoral about having a discussion on TV that actually represents the Republican view when for decades Liberals have dominated the air?'
How can a channel claim to be 'fair and balanced' when they 'actually represent the Republican view'?
'Liberals dominating the airwaves for decades'?
Who told you that nonsense? Fox News?

1) I never have said or thought that Republicans or Christan conservatives had bad morals. Just because we have different views politically does not mean that their morals are "bad". Although most Republicans call us baby killers when we try to defend women's rights.

2) See answer above. Of course I can't individually take every Republican and Christian conservative and judge their personal values and morals soley based on whom they vote for in the political realm, because that is really all we know about that person.

3) Well if you knew anything about true journalism you would know that Fox is just a filtered news outlet being ran by rich corporate men who want you to hear what they hear, hence filtered. I haven't seen true independent journalism since my years at Columbus.

When have Liberals dominated the air? No there is nothing wrong with fair, free discussion.

No need to leave the last part. You weren't addressing this top Republicans.

Not only do I agree that Republicans and Christian conservatives can be good people, I think most of them probably are. Unfortunately, as with Democrats, Muslims, butchers, bakers and candlestick makers, the jerks tend to get all the money and power while the humble keep to themselves. Fox News? Not enough news for me. When every other news outlet says Iraq or the economy is going badly and Fox is still doing their cheerleader act or trying to dig up old Clinton bones, that strikes me more as obscuring the truth than speaking it, and I don't agree that liberals have dominated the air for decades.

I do not condemn ALL Republicans based on the actions (or inactions) of anyone of that party. (If you don't know who Hastert is, you should - He's the Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, and if anything happened to Bush and Cheney, he would be our president.) However, I do find it a little hypocritical that so many Republicans have circled the wagons and refused to see that perhaps they have just as much problem with living up to their values/ideals as everybody else does. I have many friends who are Republicans and I believe them to be moral people. I may disagree with them on how to solve some issues facing our country, but I find we actually agree on some issues. I just find myself aligned more with the ideals of the left of the political center (but not always). I find it a little frustrating in our country that we do not allow for a mixture of ideas/political thought, it's either "left" or "right." - By the way, and this may be hard for you to believe, but "liberals" in our country would basically be considered "moderates" in most other industrialized nations, because our country has swung so far to the right. (REALLY!)

As a Christian, I don't believe any political party can speak for me or represent my faith/beliefs, only Christ does that. There are times I am disturbed by BOTH political parties in this country. What also disturbs me are the christian conservatives (small C used for good reason) who seem to use Christianity as a way to excuse their extreme consumerism (it's God's blessing, didn't you know?) and exploitation of our earth and its people. The hatred and intolerance spewing from their leaders, all in Bible-speak, is offensive to me.

The thing that bothers me the most about Fox News is just that it presents itself as a news network, when actually it's basically a television version of the op-ed pages of a conservative newspaper. Listen to the words (particularly the adjectives/verbs) used in their reports. Bill O'Reilly NEVER lets guests with whom he disagrees to finish a thought/sentence; but You should do that with ANY newscast, to see if there is blatant bias. I hate all those "talking head" shows, because I don't think any of them listen to anything the other says. It's not a forum/discussion, it's a contest to see who can say the most-the loudest- so the audience can't hear your "opponent" say something rational/reasonable. At this point, I think all American newscasts are mediocre at best. It's pretty fluffy and filled with celebrity crap. That's why I like to watch the BBC and CBC newscasts whenever possible, because I think they cover stories more IN DEPTH, and are more objective (not always, but usually).

Was that nice enough?! Hope so!

1. Most republicans are moral in the general sense, as are most christian conservatives. We just don't happen to agree on what moral means. To most conservatives morals are fixed quantities, where liberals think they should be improved. The far right I don't need to explain to you. Think abortion clinic bomber, or Enron executive.

2. See answer 1.

3. Good journalists are supposed to have ethics. I would be the last to deny there isn't left wing reporting, but Fox takes the idea of "right" to extremes.

BTW - I'm not far left. I'm probably middle.

Somewhat silly questions
You don't find it appalling that Foly headed a committee on exploitation of children, while all the time---------------

second question is just plain stupid

Fox is owned by the GOP, and there is no such thing on fox as unbiased reporting

And at last,,,,, having read most posts on here for some time, I find that statement a bit to much like the kettle calling the pot,,,,,,,woops, cant say that (its not politically correct)

I'm not far left btw----

Of course R's and Christian Conservatives can be moral people. And I'm sure there are plenty. That's not the issue.

The issue arises from a "holier than thou" attitude and wanting to force those "morals" on everybody else. And if you don't agree with those "morals" then you are immoral or Godless by their opinion. Then, when taking that "moral" stance, we find hypocrisy in the behaviors exhibited by those people. Abortion is murder but Capital punishment isn't? The unborn must be protected, but when that baby is born, we don't care about them-- education, food, social services, etc. Gays are immoral but we see those condemning them being gay themsleves and in some cases pedophiles. We see talk of restoring honor to the white house or other government, yet we see corruption and hiding of illegal activity (maybe by Hasert).

One cannot prove that all christian cons or Rs are morally bad people any more than saying Lefties are immoral.

Fox is very clearly slanted to the right-- anybody with half a brain knows that. But, their mantra is that they're supposedly fair and balanced. Well, its not. Their reporting and shows are very clearly scripted with conservative phrasing and portrayal of events. Again, hypocrisy. If you are clearly conservative, state that. News shows/jounalism is supposed to be unbiased-- we all know that's only partially true.

I have moral conservative friends. It's our leaders who shove
their morals in your face, who got what they never expected.

Fox news - for starts, they don't even know the party of the people who are running for office & apparently, they don't care.
First, O'Reilly posts Mark Foley as D-Fl. & just last night,
the Beltway Boys did it again with two candidates.
I forget their names already - the Democratic candidate won,
so they made him a republican & vice versa.
Very professional - Not.
