i own a repair shop, and the pressure is already set at the factory for it,,all you have to do is put it on,,you,ll have to bleed all the air out of it,but that's easy, the car will actually do it for you,but no its pre-set at the factory, good luck,i hope this help,s.

The fuel pressure regulator is already set for you!! you can't adjust one anyways if it is a factory regulator you can only adjust a aftermarket performance one! Good luck!!

i don't understand off hand what gas presure specs. are for a ninety pontiac 6000. i think of typicaly its a sprint decrease at around 35 psi idling. in spite of if, i does not worry approximately that genuine now as 6 pounds of gas presure won't reason as drastic a situation your describing. It looks like the gas presure regulator is doing it is interest of regulating gas presure. the regulator has a vacum line to the desirable of it. while the engine is idling there is aprox. 20 inches of manifold vacum pulling on the diaghram on that gas reg. which permits gas to bypass till now, 40-one psi as you reported to be precise. once you advance up manifold vacum decreases to the regulator. with a loss of vacum pulling on the diagphram it takes extra gas presure in the previous gas can bypass, 40 5 psi as you reported. Its like a mechanical gas enrichment each and every time you advance up....in any case. Alot of situations the diagphram interior the regulator will burst and alow gas to bypass into the the vacum line which suits on your intake manifold, which reasons the engine to run very wealthy. Pull off the vacum line to the regulator, if gas is interior the vacum line the regulator is undesirable. If that may not your situation deliver me an e mail and we can talk approximately another opportunities.

I dont believe there is any adjustment there.Usually there is a diaphram that works off vacuum and that adjusts pressure depending on the RPMs.Normally the pressure is tested at idle but it will vary (automatically) as the engine runs thru its rpm range.
