Original manufacturers spend a lot of development dollars to ensure that a part will perform properly when its installed from the factory (new car...$20,000+).Fuel economy, performance, emission control all comes into play.Using a NON OEM plug is basically going down an unknown road.Has Autolite,Champion,Bosch,Denso.....etc spend millions to design a plug specifically for YOUR car/engine combo? Probably not.I bet some of those companies are taking existing plugs off the shelf for that application that AC Delco might have come up with a new listing for.A spark plug only has to make a spark, thats its main job,but you just cant beat the level of engineering that goes into OEM plugs. So GM=AC Delco,Ford=Motorcraft/Autolite,Chrysler= Champion,etc.....
Dont believe the hype, stick with stock platinum ACs.

I would stick with factory ac/delco.. as the other guy said... most others try to fit a plug they make to the car.. whereas they make a plug that will work correctly...

All around if you don't want ac/delco has been autolite as they are pretty much on top of the game when it comes to working correctly in the aftermarket...

But in engine runability school, one of the things they show is how some manufacturers plugs will casue weird issues with cars..... (using champion in a Ford is a example)

hpspeedst is right. Stick with AC Delco. Even Mr. Albert Champion of the Champion Spark plug Co. would agree. He put his initials on them. I use Autolite plugs in my Buick. The mileage is a little better on the highway, but my in town mileage suffers, and the idle is rougher. There is a trade off when you substitute certain ign. parts, or air delivery parts.

E3 or spark plugs made with iridium are the best above all for performance, fuel efficiency and they're longer lasting. They are also 100% guaranteed. E3 spark plugs are guaranteed for a lifetime!

NGK seems to be everyone's favorite as far as performance and longevity. Given that's what most guys with imports use.

Boch plugs I believe would be the next best (?).

Not too familiar with Pontiacs.
