I am 9 weeks and I stopped using my Metrogel 1% (for rosacea) I now see my rosacea flaring again. Would it be safe to use again? Is there a doc in the house?

I would ask your doctor. Anything you ingest can cross over into the placenta, anything you apply to your skin that contains medicine can cross into the placenta also, it will enter you blood stream, but the amount that enters your bloodstream from a small amount of cream May not be enough to harm the baby., I used steroid drops in my eyes when I was pregnant and breastfeeding and there was no concern from my dr. or pediatrician cause the amt that was being absorbed into my blood stream was so small. I would not worry, but I would check with your Dr. Good Luck with your pregnancy.

It is fine. As long as it isnt a pill you could put anything on. If it was a pill it would get digested and go thru the babys blood stream too. But since it is just an ointment you will be fine.

I'm not sure about that specific medication, but I read somewhere that Retin-A cream can harm the baby. Ask your doctor or a pharmacist about it.
