I'm writing a paper about a book I read for a class. The book was about customer service. It's for a marketing class. My professor said to be creative when writing and 'color outside the lines.' What are some ways I can make my paper creative and different while writing about the book and the important points I learned?

It can be something like writing from a different perspective, or writing for a different audience...

You could write about customer service as it relates to a product. For example in the automobile industry if you buy certain cars they come with a lot of extraordinary customer service. At the low end and Infinity dealer will provide you with a loaner car when you bring your car in for an oil change if the wait will be more than 30 minutes. A Rolls Royce dealer will come out to your location on the road and do whatever it takes to get you going again.

If you buy a Jansport backpack and it wears out or a zipper breaks, the company will replace the backpack.

Sears used to have a policy that they would replace any Craftsman tool that was broken no matter how old or in what condition it was in.

Have your paper relate to life... make them interested. Make a story fit in with your paper. For customer service, you can write about a certain situation that happened in the book and then relate it to the real world and if it would really happen.

Just focus on your ideas and keep in mind who is going to read the paper? And then accordingly write your paper. And the best thing is to read the passage again and again in order to find the right idea. Once you get an idea, elaborate on that and carry on. Good Luck with your paper.
