Those are Roman numerals:

X = 10
I = 1
V = 5

If "I" comes before the big number, you subtract 1 from the big number. For example, IX = 9.

As has been said by others these are Roman Numerals a system which originated in Rome. They used certain letters which they combine to give numbers so

I =1
V=5
X=10
L= 50
C=100
D=500
M =1000

to get a number you combine them with a lower number subtracting if before a higher number. So this year would be written as
MMVI
the numbers you asked are 11, 14, 12, and 6
