This would seem directed more towards people who can play multiple instruments. But if you only play one instrument just picture what you think the hardest would be.

Learning the bassoon isn't easy. And I've heard that bagpipes are very difficult to learn.

A foreign language is definitely harder to learn than an instrument. In musical notation (language) there are only 13 different notes you need to learn. Once you've mastered them, you know the whole language. With languages, you may learn general, commonly-used words, but it takes a long time to master a language. Think about English. There are even words that you don't know. Think about learning all the the same words you know now in English in a different language. It would take forever, and it does.

I would say that every instrument has its advantages...as well as advantages. It just depends on what you yourself have a talent for. Such as the trombone...if you can't tune with your ears, trombone is probably not the instrument for you since tuning is the number one factor to a trombone.

So, just find what you have talent for, and go with it.
