There is no right age to start. Masturbation is something which is discovered, if not consciously, at a very young age indeed...at a time where it definitely does not have any sexual connotations. The onset of puberty and entering into adolescence does however add meaning to the act which is then performed as a substitute to the real thing. As with everything in life, in small doses it can help the mind relax and free itself of any stress or anxiety that might have built up. Additionally it is perfectly safe if done with an eye towards personal hygene. I can assure you that most experimentation with masturbation happens early on in adolescence, even though more advanced forms of masturbation are discovered much later in life. Cleanliness however should remain your primary concern and by all means enjoy the experience.

No, nothing is "wrong" with discovering masturbation at a young age... I was 8, and a friend I know started at 5 like you, by sliding down the fire pole on the playground really slowly. Neither of us discovered masturbation by watching porn though... we just figured out it felt good to touch ourselves down there. If accidentally watching porn caused you to start masturbating, I could see how that could make you feel guilty about things now. It's not ideal you saw that at such a young age, but just realize now that there is nothing wrong with masturbation. Also, 2-3 times a week is the total norm, some people do it less, but some people do it a lot more! I'm a little confused by the middle part of your post, but I will say that STI's can not be caused by masturbation... one person spreads them to another. Be safe with others... use condoms if you are with a guy (it's also a good idea with giving oral sex, not just having vaginal intercourse). And if you are receiving oral sex, or giving it to a girl, dental dams can be used if you want to be extra careful, or especially if you are concerned your partner may have herpes.

Good question I think that I actually started at 13 too. I don't think that it makes you more horny but then again I am not a doctor.

not actually a serious problem as masturbation is to explore one own body, at the same time find relief of the sexual urge/desire which come naturally to both men n women! its also the safest way to satisfy oneself minus the unwanted pregnancy n nasty disease regardless of age. Actual sexual intercourse is for those who are mature enough, both mentally n physically well prepared n be responsible for the consequences, of course after married its the best !
As long as you still have enough time/energy to perform others more important activities especially study, sport/game/recreation, its fine. Stay away from porn material n focus on beneficial issue should make your life healthier! Cheer !

I don't think so.
I had friends going around and having sex and getting felt up at that age.
