It would definately be a shame. When you look at their schedule, it's probably the weakest schedule in the NFL.

2 straight weeks at the medowlands will quite possibly end in an 0-2 stretch.
Very few teams can go in to the meadowlands and pull out a win, and I doubt the bears will do it.
Week after they face the Jets once again in New York. It will be punishing to the team and will result in at least 1 loss.
Their 5 game stretch results in 3 away games at 2 incredibly tough places to play (Meadowlands and Gilette Stadium in Foxborough, MA against the Pats)
That stretch is brutal. Giants, Jets, Patriots, a fairly good Minnesota team, and then at St Louis, who may be the team to beat besides the Bears in the NFC.
Sorry, no 16-0 for the Bears. However, look for them and the Colts to both go 14-2 this season. It is very likely considering both schedules.

I wouldnt say lack of talent in the NFC but lack of talen within their division. The Bears could very well go unbeaten but i dont see it happening. Someone will step up and the Bears will have a bad day and lose but it wont happen more than twice. Its so hard to go undefeated and i think their offense is still too young to handle that kind of pressure but with that defense they will be in every game.

Anything can happen in the NFL, that's for sure...no team has done it since the '72 Dolphins. I don't think they're strong enough to make it happen, despite their schedule. I think it was last year that KC went 10-0 before they lost a game - then they lost like 6 after that. That's the great thing about football - there are some things that happen that can't be practiced for!

Did the 72 Dolphins have that tough of a schedule?
So if a pitcher pitches a no hitter against a poor team, it doesn't really count? Thats absurd.
The Bears destroyed a good Seattle team, killed them, thats enough proof for me. They killed Bufffalo who is half way decent yesterday. If they barely won games against poor teams, you might have a point, but they are killing the poor teams, and making defensive history at the same time.
The Bears look head and shoulder better than any team in the NFL right now. After 5 games the Bears have scored the most points and have given up the fewest points, thats excellence, I don't care who they are playing!

They certainly could go undefeated this season. They've become a balanced enough team at least so far to do so. The only games I could see them losing are their games against the Giants (road), Patriots (road), Minnesota (home), and St.Louis (road). I think they'll be 16-0 at the most and 12-4 at the worst.

Well, no team has gone undefeated since the 1972 Dolphins. As the wins keep rolling up, teams will get fire up even more to be the first team to beat a previously undefeated team.

No, they will be beaten by the Vikings. They're the only team this year that has given them a good game. Look for them to beat them next time.
