I remember music used to be good. nirvana pearl jam all that good stuff. Now rap has taken over. Nothing against its listeners but i cant stand it.It seems like there is no talent behind it anymore.I can understand some of the older Rap and Jurassic 5 is pretty good. but most of it now is just flat out crap. (same with some pop bands coming out now..).Also what happened to MTV??Does anyone thing that music will get a revitalization or continue its downward spiral?

It has change for the worse. I still don't know why music has changed and why are people accepting this generation of garbage music. But there are still many individuals like you and me that appreciate good stuff.

As a hip-hop/rap fan I agree that most "rap" music out there sucks. Thats because most rappers are trying to be more commercial and make more money than put out a cd thats actually good. Most songs are good only when in a club for dancing to but are otherwise crap.

The same thing with "rock" now a days. The stuff you hear on the radio is nothing but commercial bubblegum to make the record companies rich (Fall Out Boy, Panic at The Disco etc).

Good music is still easy to find but with a few exceptions you wont here it on mainstream radio or tv.

As for MTV, I dont even know they are just really sucking now. Its less about music and more about how many redundant reality shows can we put on air.

I agree with you. They don't make good music anymore, whether it's the old wartime classics like the Glenn Miller Orchestra or other great music all the way up through the '80s and even the '90s. I abhor rap music and I do personally have plenty against those who listen to it. Just a bunch of nasty ghetto thugs infecting our society and ruining the airwaves. The problem is that music is too much commercialization these days and too little true talent on the part of the artists. The future would look bleak were it not for satellite radio, Internet music sites such as www.pandora.com and local musicians.

Good question. I'm not sure what happened to it, but I think Barry White would turn over in his grave at some of the noise that passes for "music." So much of it all sounds the same and there's like 2 words in the whole song sung by people who can't sing worth a shi*. I hate to say it but I think its going to continue spiraling downward unless people stop paying for it in its various forms.

Heh. I'm a variety person so I like random music, but I know what you mean. I know it seems as if all songs are now r+b and rap but, isn't it the user choice to listen to what they want? I like some rap, the edited and clean ones, yet, i miss other random songs that use to come on....before rap it was pop that was popular, but people couldn't stand Brittany Spears and Justin Timberlake.

um sorry to break it to everyone....

BUT RAP HAS INDEED TAKEN OVER!!

and i am so sick of it! if i never heard another rap or r+b song again it would be the best day the world has ever seen!! let alone the day everyone realized that listening to nothing at all is better than that of listening to rap.

Yah, modern music sucks (most of it). I like older stuff better. And MTV should now be titled RTV for Reality Television.
