To add or subtract fractions, you need to put them to a common denominator (the bottom number). Then you can add or subtract the numerators. Afterwards, you have to simply the result.

For example,
4/13+7/39
You'd find the lowest common multiple between the two denominators 13 and 39 to be 39. Then you transform the first fraction to have a denominator of 39 by multiplying by 3 (top and bottom), the rest will be obvious:
4/13+7/39
=12/39+7/39
= 19/39
Since 19/39 cannot be further simplified, this is the answer.
Try to proceed the same way with your own problem.
Good luck.

With any of these, get the denominators the same then subtract.
7/15 = 21/45

So 21/45 - 4/45 = (21-4)/45 = 17/45

get a common denominator & then subtract the numerator.

so 7/15-4/45...the common denominator is 45.
so
7/15(3/3) -4/45 = 21/45 - 4/45= 17/45.

First you must find a common demoninator, which in this case is 45. Then you must convert it (7/15 X 3 = 21/45) Then 21/45 - 4/45, just subtract the 4 from 21 to get 17/45, which doesnt reduce.

you have to find a common denominator which is 45 and then you multiply 15 by 3 and 7 by 3 so you get 21/45 then subtract to get

17/45

and that can not be reduced so your answer is 17/45

Oh gees, that reminded me!
I have math homework! lol
I hope that helped! :D

what you do, you cross mutliply. 7/15 - 4/45. you multiply 45 x 7 and you get 315. then you multiply 15 x 4, which is 60. then you subract 60 from 315, which is 255. that is your new numerator. then you multiply the denominators straight across. 45 x 15 is 675. so you have 315/675. then you reduce. 15 goes into both of those numbers so you divide both numbers by 15. you get 21/45. then you reduce one more time. 3 goes into both of those numbers so you divide both of those by 3. Your answer is 7/15
