If you feel like taking a different route with this, take a look at this article for an interesting angle on breast cancer prevention...

It's called "Mammograms Cause Breast Cancer (and Other Cancer Facts You Probably Never Knew.)"

If nothing else, it makes for an interesting read.

How about this.... The art of true prevention. I mean this. A yearly trip to the doctor for screenings has yet to produce results beyond early detection! In the over 30 years that cancer in general has been discussed and researched to cure it has become ever increasingly more and more of a killer. Why because the cause of it is increased by things that do oxidative damage to the cells. The higher the damage the higher the risk of having cancer. So what can we do? #1 Live healthier lives ie low glycemic meals, stay away from smoking, etc... #2 Excercise a little (go figure) #3 The right amounts of high quality nutritionals (The JAMA from America) has reported for years now about the positive effects of the right nutritionals in cancer patients. The problem though is drug companies can't make a good buck on it so they don't take out the big ads in the USA today telling everyone!

As far as a theme - I'm not sure.
However, an interesting fact about breast cancer should be noted that 5% of all diagnosed breast cancers are in men! Yes, men get breast cancer as well. Most are diagnosed too late for a positive outcome. Think about it - when was the last time you ever heard a commercial reminding men to check for lumps in their breast???

Interesting...
I have a project due on Breast Cancer this month.

Anyway, you could always focus on General Breast Cancer, the Genetics behind Breast Cancer, Breast Cancer in High Risk Groups (like African-American Women), Treatment of Breast Cancer (focus on chemo, radation therapy, mastectomy, brachytherapy, etc), Inflammatory Breast Cancer, or you could focus on screening techniques (like education, Breast Self Exams, Mammographies, etc).

Good Luck

I would probably use the hormonal influence on breast cancer. Perhaps you could discuss estrogen positive breast cancer and the effects of Tamoxifen therapy and the result of Tamoxifen on breast cancer remission.
