Here's a thought. Try watching a race one time and you'll find out how very wrong you are. For example, yesterday's race had about 70 lead changes. Those are only counted at the start/finish line and that only counts the number of passes made by lead cars.

I think you have NASCAR confused with Formula One.

are you blind? did you watch the race yesterday? there were 68 lead changes. yes, that's right, 68! compare that to formula 1. there probably aren't 68 lead changes in an entire F1 SEASON! i assume you are a european F1 fan because you said overtaking. here in america we call it passing, not overtaking.

It's because they're trying to keep it the most boring sport in the history of time. You can only stay interested if you drink a beer for every lap they drive or if you live in "the sticks."

it's called drafting. using the car in front of you to cut the wind for you saving on gas. and other potential problems. then at the critical moment cut by them.
