banks will freeze accounts in the following scenarios:
1. court order
2. liens generated from the government
3. suspected fraud
all three are totally legal. in the case of a lawsuit, you are probably going to fall in the first category. a bank can only freeze your accounts if ordered by the court to do so.

Not without a Court order in the U.S.
They bank may claim they don't half to have a court order only a garnishment form. However, that is incorrect and illegal and in the case you may need a lawyer.

Are you having your bank account frozen ?or is the person or Company that is sueing you having it done.If you are doing it and the suit has been filed then it will probably be too late. If the company or person is doing it ,it is legal.
