Time heals wounds. Start with an apology of wrong doing and atone for your actions. Allow them to govern themselves without outside intervention.

Im in the middle east right now. The only way to achieve peace here is for America and all of the other coalition forces to stay. If we were to just up and leave there would be all out civil war. They kill each other over religion, borders, and oil. The majority of the people here rely on our soldiers for there safety. There is'nt any short term fix for this problem.

I would start my administration with a more open policy. I would talk with anyone and make sure I have diplomatic relations with all countries. I would curtail Israeli influence and work to scale back the Israeli lobby. I would also scale back the influence the west has in the Mideast. It is the the western influence in the Mideast that is responsible for much of the unrest. It also would be necessary to scale back our supporting repressive regimes in Egypt and Saudi Arabia. Let the Mideast work out their own destiny without interference because of oil.

by the way, just realised that e person asking the question just added some South Asia + Central Asia countries to Mid-East as well. For americans out there, please NOTE that there is no Middle East "Continent" and M-E is not a geographical term and M-E is actually West or SW Asia... [i am excluding North African Arab states here]
There is no quick fixes, co-operate well with Pakistan & other West Asian states, fight harder and smarter and try to let M-E states police their own rebels ASAP

True peace will never be seen in the MidEast until the terrorists and their sponsors accept Israel's existence and stop declaring their goal to wipe her off the planet. No American president nor any PM will ever change that.
