of course not, art is just one of the many ways to explore the essence of humanity. not until humanity itself is loving, caring and can hold a certain degree of all-encompassing spirituality (not within any set religion - just a faith that can give an individual a higher power to draw from) will wars be expelled. but at the same time the likelihood of a world without wars - or a strong enough force to stop them - is pretty slim. power and money are too important to too may people.

There is enough clear evidence that it doesn't.
Destroying other peoples artwork can even be a way to assert dominance. While they may care for their own art they don't care for somebody elses: In colonialism a lot of art got destroyed because it didn't correspond to the taste of the colonizers. Art gets frequently destroyed for religious purposes (doesn't conform to moral and religious views of whoever is now in power).
Enough artworks get stolen from museums because some private person wants to enjoy it as their own.
Hitler did paint, so he must have cared for art, but it didn't make him a better human...

I think the people who appreciate art are already mostly anti-war. I think the people who make war are probably not all that interested.

I CAN SEE IT BEEING VERY DIFFICULT FOR ART TO BECOME AN EXCUSE FOR STOPPING WARS BUT IDEALLY, IT COULD BE AN INSPIRATION FOR THAT. (SEE PICASSO'S GUERNICA)
