4[x-(3+2x)] + 5 = 3(x+11)
4[x-3-2x] + 5 = 3x + 33
4x - 12 - 8x + 5 = 3x + 33
-4x - 7 = 3x + 33
-7 - 33 = 3x + 4x
-40 = 7x
x = -40/7

I think your problem is that when you do the -(-3 + 2x), the "-" also applies to 2x. Instead of having +2x, you should have -2x.

I am sorry, I didn't get the answer as one of your a), b), c) or d). Please make sure if you have copied the correct question.

First off, you need to distribute the negative sign by the parentheses. 4[x - (3 + 2x)] + 5 simplifies to 4[x - 3 - 2x] + 5, which would in turn simplify to 4x - 12 - 8x + 5 or -4x - 7.

You then need to simplify the other side of the equation and solve it.

Your mistake is that you forgot to make something negative instead of positive. Observe:

4[X-(3+2X)]+5=3(X+11)
4[X-3-2x]+5=3x+33
4X-12-8x+5=3x+33
-4X-7=3X+33
-7X=40
7X= -40
X= -40/7

4[x-3-2x]+5=3x+33
-4x-12+5=3x+33
-7x=40
x=-40/7
either you have copied the sum wrong or youranswer choices are wrong
if the sum reads
4[x-(3-2x]+5=3(x+11)
then your answer will be x=40/9
check up where you have made the mistake

4[x-(3+2x)] + 5 = 3(x+11)
4[x-3-2x]+5=3x+33
4x-12-8x+5=3x+33
4x-3x-8x=33+12-5
-7x=40
x=-40/7

This is the solution to this problem.
