well, I'm not a dietitian or a Dr, but i can give you an opinion.
First off, stick to eating just meals either 3 regular ones or like 4 or 5 smaller ones. Eating a healthy breakfast is the most important meal of the day.
Stay away from between meal snacks. Don't get trapped off with all that "no carb" nonsense, your body needs some carbs to be effective in competition.
Try to stay with low fat proteins like chicken, or better cuts of beef or pork. Try to stay away from burgers or hot dogs or any "processed meat"
Seafood is also a great source of protein also, but, you really have to be careful of how much you take in because seafood can have a high mercury content. A Dr, told me once that i should limit my seafood intake to once a week. Soy products also are high in protein.

With all this, exercise is important. It's been my experience that dieting without exercise is a total waste of time.

you should really check in with your doctor before your start any diet or exercise regimen.....

best of luck to you........

good diet for softball is just the same as a good diet for any sports. eat healthy. the day before the game, eat pasta and bread for dinner. then a couple hours before the game, drink gatorade or water or have a powerbar. during the off season stay healthy, eat a lot of salads and reduced fat food. stay away from ice cream and high calorie items. go to the forzen food section and get lean cusines that are under 200 calories and eat those. theyre actually good tasting!

Salt to taste.

If we are talking about slow pitch softball, beer is probably the best for your diet.
