Because:
1) North Korea doesn't have oil.
2) Members of his administration had been planning an invasion of Iraq since 1998.

Maybe you should catch up your current events.
Suppose Bush did take some kind of action, what would you want him to do? Invade North Korea? Diplomacy has been sat work there for years. Would you support Bush if we sent troops or just flew over and dropped nukes on them? You damn liberals have an affinity for condeming Bush, but not one of you jugheads has ever produced a solution. So, now is your chance Bubba, what do you want Bush to do in North Korea? Tell all of us, so that we know what the right solution to the problem should be.

Because North Korea's big brother, China, will destroy anyone who f*cks with their countries interest. Bush knows who to pick wars with, North Korea is not the country to f*ck with.... Unless you're ready for World War 3. (The only thing Bush will try to do to North Korea is "sanctions", how cowardly...)

He didn't ignore them....they just "aren't the threat" to us. Plus, when N. Korea won't let you in...and getting militarily involved in N. Korea would be more than political suicide for Bush. Remember....adults remember our last attempt at war with N. Korea....It didn't end up very well....
But if you remember....Bush and every other country in the world was trying to talk to N. Korea...and they wouldn't talk back. I'm not very pro-Bush...but he didn't just "ignore" N. Korea....it's just the focus is on the middle ease because of oil and because of the "immediate threat".

He never ignored North Korea. They ignored him. They refused to negotiate with anyone. Kim Jong Il wanted nuclear weapons, and didn't care what anyone thought.
