I have to agree, and i am not anti-yankees.
But its good for the sport when the biggest team in the biggest city does not always win it.
Old cliche - "A champion team will always beat a team of champions"
No one on the yankees is playing for the team, NY media and that club make sure they only look out for themselves. No one is blaming Jeter for their loss, because he hit well, but isn't he supposed to be the leader of the team? has he taken responsibility for it?

Well, considering the Tigers had a huge lead, and had to settle for the wild card by losing 31 of 50, they were due to get hot SOMETIME. Hell, even the Devil Rays had a few winning streaks this year.
Yeah, the Yankees sucked this series, but that's the thing about baseball now. With all the levels of playoffs, the hot team, not always the best team, wins.
We'll be back. The Yankees have not won since 2000 now, but they are in it every year, you can't say that about some of the teams that have beaten them.

Yes. They are so smug thinking they had the series won just because they showed up. You could tell they were already thinking about who they were going to play next, Oakland or Minnesota. Detroit played with heart, style and skill and will keep on playing. The Yankees think that paying a lot of money for the talent created by other teams is their way to a World Series. Guess not.

I am sick of every year the same thing, Yankees in the post season, trying for another World Series win.
Someone else finally gets a chance.

"The way a team plays as a whole determines its success. You may have the greatest stars in the world, but if they don't play together, the club won't be worth a dime" - Babe Ruth
A yankee said that. And years later it happened( This year in 2006!)
