I hate to say it because Helton is my favorite player, but what about Helton and maybe someone like a Many Corpes (young reliever who doesn't walk many people, with a havy sinker) for A-Rod? I know the Yankee fans hate him now but they would get a gold glove first baseman who has the highest on-base percentage of any active player. They could then trade Giambi for a thirdbaseman. Maybe Morgan Ensberg from Houston? Then the Rocks could move Atkins to first. He played there at UCLA.

To you Yankee fans. This is not a bash on the Yankees. Look who you are getting. Helton is not a slouch. Damn. You are getting a future Hall of Famer.

I honestly cannot see any team trading for Giambi.... this is where the Yankees have handcuffed themselves, paying TOO much for players they will never be able to unload. Seriously, as a GM of another team, would you be willing to take any of these guys in a trade knowing
A. Their $alaries
B. Their age
Gary Sheffield, Jorge Posada, Bernie Williams, Jason Giambi, Jarett Wright, Randy Johnson, etc.
The Yankees have paid too high of a price for these players and now they cannot unload them.
As far as having Todd Helton playing in pinstripes..... no way, I want him wearing Red Sox!!!! Unfortunately for Red Sox and Yankee fans, Helton says he is very content in Colorado and would like to stay.... too bad for him and for all of the baseball fans who have never really gotten to see him play.... he has been an awesome player and deserves to have his skills shown on more of a national spotlight.

If the yankees ever ended up for Ensberg at third base, Steinbrenner would kill himself. They would play Giambi at third before they play Ensberg.
The yankees have tied their hands behing their backs with the way they do things, and its why they cannot win. Did they really need Abreu, Melkey Cabera was doing ok, so were the other kids, give the young guys a chance.

No. He has to have huge baseball expertise (on hitting, pitching, protection), make key judgements, set up the protection, settle disputes, and maximum severely handle the warmth from the media and offended followers. there have been some super managers interior the historic previous of baseball that turn a no-hitting or no-pitching team around (a number of it success and the staff working confusing), however the chief does matter. look at what Joe Giradi did for the Marlins in 2007, or what Joe Maddon did this 365 days with the Rays (he has some loopy baserunning suggestions). EDIT: sure it is strictly what hitting coaches do. They coach adult men a thank you to hit on astonishing of the ball quite of below, a thank you to change their legs, and their swing.

When arod is traded, he will go for a young starter and an outfield prospect.
The yankees are going to drop mussina, johnson, and wright for next year. They will need starters for 2007.

I think thats wishful thinking on your part you need to remember that any trade that is done A-rod has to approve he has a no trade clause. your not going to get him to agree to many places probably somewhere in Cali if he does
