I know this is the last thing that you want to do when your 9 months pregnant but what really works is sex. I was so tired at the end of my pregnancy and I would cry because I just wanted to have the baby already. Well one night I had sex with my husband and went into labor and had my baby the next day. Or just find a way to get the sperm inside of you.

I'm sorry you're miserable. I know that the last few weeks of pregnancy are not fun.

But 6ish pounds isn't really that big. Its a decent size but your doctor probably wants your baby to be a little bigger. Also Ultrasounds in late pregnancy are notorious for being off by as much as two pounds.

Also an induction for no medical reason (ie you're tired of being pregnant) will greatly increase your pain in childbirth. You will have a higher risk of having a cesearean if you have an induction.

Also if you're 2 cm dilated already you could possibly go into labor on your own very soon. The further dilated you are now the less you have to do when you're in actual labor.

Good luck to you sweetie. I hope that your labor goes well and starts soon.

I'm 38 weeks and have been dilated at 2 for 2 weeks. The baby will find room trust me sometimes it feels like my baby is trying to come out of my bellybutton. If your Dr. thought that there was a problem they would induce you. You are already dilated so it won't be to much longer. I'm 5'2 and gained almost 50 Ibs with my first daughter. The Dr.s don't get concerned unless you gain more than 4 pounds a week remember now your baby is gaining an ounce a day so its just you getting fatter. Good Luck!

Well I am in your boat, I am 38 w 3d and 1 cm I am 5 7 and have gained 20lbs weighing in at 160 and my ultra sound last week showed a 7lbs baby. I am in lots of pain from being kicked and having back pain from carring all this around, I get hungrey but don't want to eat because of bad indegestion, I wake up every 2 hours to pee, and I am usally hot with swollen hands and feet, I can't stop drinking water which makes peeing seem like a constant thing, I want to have this baby tonight but doesn't seem like it is going to happen and mother in law won't be able to be here for 2 weeks to help out with the baby!!!

You sound a lot like me... except I am 35 weeks, 5'1 and at 140 pounds ( I was a size 2 before I got pregnant). I am getting so uncomfortable lately that I just feel like forcing this baby out! If I was as far as you are, I would be doing things that are supposed to induce labor. For instance, walking a lot... drink raspberry tea... have sex... n*pple stimulation... anything I could to hurry it up.

Ahhh, the joys of pregnancy. From a mom of two young girls, welcome to the club.
My OB doesn't like to induce without a medical reason, but that depends on your practice. My OB says the baby will come when he/she is ready. It could be any minute, or it could be 2+weeks.
Good luck, and happy parenting! Your life will never be the same, but in a good way!

You poor thing, when it comes to doctors they are so against inducing the baby unless there is something wrong. I guess you will just have to sit tight in a matter of words. Or just keep going back to the doctor and complaing that you so unconfortable and see if he gets the shits with you and enventually breaks and puts you in to get induced.GOOD LUCK....

that baby is still little. They will not induce until that baby is 8 lbs. Sorry to tell ya that. It might suck, but the longer that baby is in there the better of he/she will be on her own out of your body. The lungs better, the heart better, the whole situation all better. Just be glad there is only a couple more weeks left. As soon as there is no more room, your water will break. Good luck and congrats.

eat spicy food (pizza or spanish rice.......it worked for me) it might sitr it up, or having sex (it worked for me).

My oldest daughter the doc told me to go home and relax it would be 3 weeks.........I had sex that night ....she was threre the next day. She was so big she had no place to go either. Just as low as you possibly can go.

My son Shane Sex and Spanish Rice
