I was given a pair of alligator cowboy boots and was told they were purchased for $1,200 does that cost really sound right or is my friend pulling my leg?

I did a little online shopping and found alligator boots from $300 to $3000. The only Tony Lama I could find was described as Caiman Alligator boots for $499.95. Caiman ain't really an alligator, but is close as you can get.

I love the Lucchese brand a lot! my girlfriend really wants a pair of these! you can buy them online at the Lucchese website!
