I use astrology every day of my life. But I never read the newspaper horoscopes. I read charts.
The reason more than one sign fits most people is that people are not just one sign! You have a Sun sign, a Moon sign, a rising sign and a hundred other things going on in your chart. And if you learn to read charts at that level, if you really study astrology, you will see that it works extremely well. But it takes years to learn. That's why most people don't bother learning it.
Almost all of the people who tell you astrology is fake haven't studied it. They base their opinions on what they see in the newspapers.

Astrology has proven to be very real when I've researched it.
For example, I've found that capricorns will never back down in a fight or debate. They think they are always right, even if you just proved them wrong, they might seem to retreat a little, but immediately after they will attack from a different angle. A different sign, Virgo, will always look for balance and comprimise rather than arguing. But because of this you can never get a final answer out them. Aries can and will banter about anything for no reason except just to debate. Scorpios usually don't say what they are thinking and almost never fear death. Every sign has it's own specific characteristics.
Astrological signs are very accurate in decribing people in my experience. I've had relationships with four Capricorn men, and in each case petty arguments that they could not back down from ended the relationship. I've not had any relationships end that way from any other sign. But, I personally refuse to back down if I'm right, and Capricorns refuse to back down ever, so it's very easy to burn bridges in that scenario. =)
Every person still has their own personality of course. Each planet impacts your character, including planets on the "astral plane," that cannot be seen from our dimension. A gemini could have a large influence from multiple other signs depending on the position of the moon and other planets for example.
Try looking up your friends or family, and also yourself to see how accurate the descriptions are. In my own experience everyone I've looked up has been very, very close to their sign, to the point of being scary a lot of times. And, if you look yourself up you may see your own motivations for acting the way you do have been outlined in a way that you would have never thought to describe them, but that is entirely accurate at the same time.
Daily horoscopes are not "real" in my experience. When I have a crazy "bad luck" day or an amazing "good luck" day" my daily horoscope never predicted it.
Hope this helps,
Dan

Astrology is not objective enough to be tested in a conventional or scientific way. Its like UFOs, witchcraft, magic, supernatural, etc., no valid proof that is exists, plenty of proof that it doesn't, but still plenty of people that believe simply because they want to.
The nearest thing to a test what I have found useful in evaluating the truth of these things is to do the following:
1. Consider the history and how it got started. In the case of astrology, advisers to the ancient kings of Babylonia devised a program to guide the king using the position of the planets and stars. It didn't work very well or Babylon would still be around.
2. People easily believe things that boost their egos and tend to reject things that are negative. To maintain your objectivity, force yourself to reconsider both. It would be nice if we knew that was going to happen before the fact, so astrology provides a boost to ones ego and therefor makes it easy to believe. That does not make it true.
3. Is it consistent? Do all astrologers come up with the same data for the same person? No, they don't.
4. Does it meet the free will test? If you believe that you are in control of your own life then you can not believe that you are a puppet who's strings are being pulled by forces unseen.
5. Responsibility: People tend to believe things that excuse their own shortcomings. If it is in the stars, then we can't be held responsible. That is lazy logic.
Based of the above tests, and my own experience, I conclude that astrology is a dangerous lie because it allows people to go through life without taking responsibility for themselves.

I have looked at my horiscope for many years, but like a previous person answered I never know which Horiscopes to take notice of, but if you think about it the ones you read anyway could never relate to everyone that come under a specific star sign.
I sometimes have found they do relate in someway to me, but mostly they dont.
I think they keep some people employed writing them to be honest.
When it comes to the discription though of a typical cancer woman, I totally am what they discribe in nearly every way.

My old roommate is really into astrology. I think that some of the things have slight true characteristics, but you cannot really rely on them.
For example, I subscribe to 3 different horoscopes from differnt astrologers. They are all different. Whose do you decide to choose???? I choose whose I like the best, if I chose at all. I decide to take it more as common sense type of advice.

I have been a Gilmore Girls fan since the beginning and I think losing Amy Sherman-Palidino is breaking the show. I just think the characters are acting "out of character" so to speak. The show seems very different to me. The Thing with Lane being pregnant just doesn't seem right, not the being pregnant thing but the way they talked about it, I dunno it just seems weird. I don't like the way everything is going so far this season. It almost seems like a different show. And what is the deal with Emily and Richard not being on there yet, I heard rumors that Richard wasn't going to be on there at all and Emily was only going to be on a couple of episodes. I think without Amy Sherman-Palidino the show is falling apart. Its killing me too, because I am completely obsessed with the show.

Horoscopes are just a game for children.
I have tried this test repeatedly.
I read a horoscope from the paper and ask a person which one best describes him..
So far, no one has ever gotten it right.
And this link will take you to a youtube video which will reinforce my findings.
