Yes, never let my daughter do anything without us present. She's not even allowed to spend the night someplace. It's been proven that you just don't know who you can trust. I take her to and from school now, but before that, I'd stand in the driveway and watch her walk home and I'd walk her to the bus stop. We put her in private school after someone threatened her life and they didn't do anything about it saying "it won't happen here". My reply was to say "that's what they thought at other schools too" and enrolled her in a good school. Mind you, this is at an elementary level too. The house is locked, even when we're here. We also have a security camera outside because we have kids in our yard that shouldn't be and have had mail stolen. Nothing was done about it either. Go figure.

There was a time that I would talk to anyone I saw on the street or in a store. Now, I hesitate to even look at them. After being taken advantage of time after time by con artists and scammers, I'm just suspicious of everyone I meet. I always lock my car doors when I drive to work. I think I may be a little paranoid because of what I see on the news every day; you rarely see any good news. I don't think that the "world" is that dangerous; it's the people that scare the hell out of me.

Yes. I lock my car doors and doors to my home, at all times. I fly less often than I used to, all things considered. I have become more practical in my every day life, and count my blessings more often. I am interested to read the other responses to your question - great question, by the way!

Yes. We watch our son like a hawk, and we're VERY overprotective. We also lock everything and check it 100 times. Can't be too careful, you know.

I use to take walks by myself at night. Now I only walk if my husband is with me. I wouldn't dare think of going out alone.
