HOW MUCH JUST TO TAKE IT TO A SHOP AND HAVE THEM LOOK AT IT TO SEE WHATS WRONG? IS IT CALLED DINONOSTIC CHECK?

Depending on the car and engine this would be a roughly inexpensive repair. the Thermostat is cheap and the gasket is included. usually consists of removing a hose and remove the thermostat housing and removing the T-Stat. Reverse this to complete the job. Sometimes in about 30 minutes. Unless you have an exoctic car.
