Sounds like its is your torque converter located in between your transmission and engine, so you need to take out your tranny !! Go to a transmission shop to take a look at it!! Good luck!!

Sounds like an Mass Air Flow sensor is causing your problem. Try this test. Start the engine with the hood open. Once it is running, use the back of a heavy screwdriver and tap on the Mass Air Flow, if the egine stumbles or stalls, then you found the culprit. The MAF sensor is located in the air flow tube between the air filter box and the tube leading into the engines air intake. usually black and round with a quick disconnect wire going to it. If your not sure, have someone with auto knowledge point it out for you.
good luck

does it do the same thing when you put it in reverse? This sounds like the tourque converter selinoid is bad keeping the torque converter locked in to direct drive....had one that did this...but on mine it only did it when it got warmed up. This can be checked by simply unplugging the selinoid wire at the transmission...it's kind of a bear to get to but it's located on top of the transmission. Get a book and find the location of this unit and try unplugging it...if this seems to fix the problem then replace the selinoid....again a bit of a bear of a job but that sounds like the problem

A quick note...if unplugging the selinoid does the trick...the car can be driven this way it just won't lock the torque converter which will hurt your MPG on the hiway.

Hope this helps

I would need more information, but there was a problem with a screen braking apart in the valve body cosing the clutch in the torque converter to lock up at an idle in gear and stalling the engine.

I'm no mechanic, but I have a 3.1 Grand Prix, and this sounds related to the transmission, like when a manual stalls if it's not shifted correctly.

I don't know much about this car but sounds like gas is not getting where it needs to go... try a fuel pump buddy :) Hope this helps...
