The Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Musically, they have withstood the test of time. Superficially, Anthony Keidis is THE hottest motherf*^(ker I've ever seen in my life. I own every cd they have out and I always catch their concerts. Flea is cool, too.
Also, Rush.
I've seen them in concert 3 times. I LOVE their sound. For some reason, the only other Rush fans I've found are Canadian. Go figure?

yeah tool is an awesome band, I love maynards unique vocals... Id have to also say faith no more is a great band vocal wise, If you have ever listened to mike patton vocals. He can do just about anything, Faith no more si a very under-rated band. I also like some of mike pattons side projects, peeping tom is a good example of this.. but as for all time favorites I would have to go with led zepplin, jimmi page and robert plant are pure genius. Nothing like gettin the led out.

The Kinks
Because they never sounded the same from album to album, Ray Davies is a wonderful song writer and Dave Davies kicks *** as a guitarist.

Tool is definitely in the top 5. If you like hard rock (instead of heavy metal, or progressive metal as they often categorize Tool to be), check out Fireball Ministry. They're my current fav.
