I thought these furry underground creatures had protection. Is this true?

You shouldn't make any creature suffer needlessly which is why, if you want to cap them, the mouse trap is best. One quick snap and they're history.

I have been fighting moles for a couple of years around our acerage. It wasn't until this summer that I learned of a trap called the Black Hole that I began to have some success. I was using three other types of traps and never caught a single mole. With the Black Hole (two traps) I have caught six this summer.

Moles are not protected in any city or state that I am aware of. They ruin lawns and I can't imagine anyone foolish enough to put laws in place to protect them.

Don't expect a grub control product to get rid of moles.
Grub control only effects what is in the top 2 inches of soil.
Moles are a pain in the rear.
The only thing other than an outside dog that sorta works is baits.
Check with your local feed store, not Home Depot.

The only protection they have is that they are very hard to get rid of. If you care, learn to live with them as peaceful neighbors that eat grubs. If you don't, borrow a dog that likes to hunt moles.
