I was looking through youtube and i saw this cool video of clips of the war on terror with the music of iron maiden. Run to the Hills was the song. It seemed to go so good with the video. "white man came, across the sea, he gave us pain and misery", that little bit is
refering to the terrorists. The chorus and the solo also went good with the video. I thought it was pretty awesome. Here's the URL.

ahhh forget it. Stupid URL won't work. Just go to youtube.com and type in "Iron Maiden president bush" and it should come up as the first one.

AWWW COME ON PEOPLE! I am not stupid. Iron Maiden is one of my favorite bands. I know a ton of history. It just sounds like it and it goes extremely well with the war on terror. That's all, OK?

The lyrics do really match the topic but they weren't written for the war on terror. In a way i believe it's the other way around, condemning invading other peoples land.

Maybe if you're a Native American.

The original video which was authorized by the band and song depict the coming of the white man to the new world. It even has clips from a silent film showing a battle between Sioux and settlers.

Here's the lyrics..

The white man came across the sea,
He brought us pain and misery.
He killed our tribe, he killed our creed,
He took our game for his own need.
We fought him hard, we fought him well.
Out on the plains, we gave him Hell.
But many came to much for Cree,
Oh will we ever be set free?

Riding through dust clouds and barren wastes, Galloping hard on the plains.
Chasing the Redskins back to their holes,
Fighting them at their own game.
Murder for freedom, stab in the back.
Women and children are cowards, attack!

Run to the hills;
Run for your lives!
Run to the hills;
Run for your lives!

Soldier blue in the barren wastes, hunting and killing's the game.
Raping the women and wasting the men,
The only good Injuns are tame.
Selling them whiskey and taking their gold, Enslaving the young and destroying the old!

Run to the hills, run for your lives!
Run to the hills, run for your lives!
(2:12-Solo: Dave Murray)

Run to the hills;
Run for your lives!
Run to the hills;
Run for your lives!

As you can tell from the blatant tribal references yup it's about the expansion into the west.

I have heard soldiers using Iron Maiden songs as fight songs to raise morale for the troops in particular "The Trooper", "Aces High" and of course "Run To The Hills" i heard during the Gulf War "Damage Inc." by Metallica was used a lot.

Apparently the song is about Europeans coming to America, and attacking and killing the natives.
The song was first released in 1982 on the "Number of the Beast" album.
After Beirut, but before WTC 1...

Iron Maiden rocks - I can see them being anti-terrorism.

Bruce should just scream into a microphone and shatter the terrorists' skulls - that'd teach them. Then they could do Number of the Beast, and the ones who were left would kill themselves.

It's a gig I'd go watch...
