EDIT: Okay, so, you answered my questions. Most likely, encrusted (even babies had jewels) christening gowns and the like would be most appropriate. If it's REALLY young, then a nice embroidered swaddling blanket with a simple satin gown underneath would be perfect. Also, if this is how young he is, then be sure to only show is face. Babies were thought to be more susceptible to diseases, so they kept them as covered as possible.

I don't know of any website, but I can tell you off the top of my head babies and small children, both male and female, usually wore a sort of long coat that buttoned down the front, with no hose. A prince would have worn one made of nice fabric (linen, silk, brocade, probably with some fancy trims) and dyed bright colors; generally the richer you were, the more "bold" colors you would wear, because dye was expensive.
Also, what 'medieval' era are you talking about? Fashions changed almost as fast in the middle ages as they do now. The 12th cetury is a very different thing from the 15th.

look up the SCA. or Society for Creative Anachronism.
they are a medieval society that is very strice on all clothing etc. being made to period fashion. and will have links to many sites that may help you. you will probally be able to contact their Garbers Guild (clothing and sewing folks) and get some one on one convesation and ideas.
as a general rule medieval royalty (even the babies) would be covered from the bottom of the ears to the wrists and ankles. by fabric and probally wearing gloves and shoes any time that they were in public. if you wish to complete the facade. they would never eat any roots tubers of fruits of vegitables that grew on or under the ground. it was considered "under" them. Birds and high growing fruits were favored because only thoes of High Birth should be able to attain things from the sky.

I believe they wore gowns.
Wealthy children wore christening gowns.
Peasant children wore gown type clothing, usually made from scrap material or clothes made from worn out adult clothing. Hope this helps.

I don't know of a web page. But what I do know is that they wore super long camisole, pretty much like Baptism garments...

I don't know one off-hand, but if you were to search some artists of the era, you're bound to find a good example.
