First thing is to resign Bonds! His on base percent is the highest in baseball, and he makes all the players around him better. Even Ray Durham said he had the best season because of Bonds! Without Bonds the Giants will lose a 100 games!
As for a new manager, as long as it isn't Baker!!
They need to cut Armando Benitez, but they won't!
They need to spend some money on free agents like Soriano, but they won't, Sabean already said they won't, they want to spread to money around. So they will go out a get the cheapest players they can, because they know the fan will keep coming out. They won't get better until the fans stop going!
I think next season will be another losing season!
But I hope to God, I'm wrong, because I'm still a Giants fan!!!

I think the Giants will need to start from scrap. Rookies and young talents. They should get rid of the old players and rebuild the whole system from the ground. Like the Florida marlins. Keep young key players and trade everyone else away. I think it is best for baseball, the Giants, and Barry Bonds himself to leave the NL and the Giants. He can't play DEFENSE period. He needs to become a DH in the AL. Maybe to the Angels or something. It will take several long years until the Giants will win again and be in contention or even a 400-500 ball club. Giants will really have a lot to deal with the off season. Their ace is leaving, Jason Schmidt. So they won't be winning a lot of games. Just my opinion.
p.s. Barry Bonds knows himself that we wants to be out of S.F. Did you watch the last game when he hit a double against the Dodgers and someone came to pinch run for him? He knew right there and then he won't be back. With the curtain call, the standing ovation from the fans.

I think the manager should be Bob Brenly. If he can get the Arizona Diamondbacks into the World Series and win it, he can do the same for the Giants. I don't think that they should resign Bonds because he isn't willing to accept a paycut. He has to do what is BEST for the Giants and the best thing for them is to WIN. The team is not known as San Francisco Barry. It is known for the Giants and everyone has to contribute. They should get new pitchers and a new catcher if Matheny is unable to come back.

Need to re-sign Bonds for 1-2 more years. WIth that big mortgage payment on their new stadium, it's important that they continue selling out their games. Besides, it would really suck to see him break the record in a Yankee uni.
Lou Piniella would make a good choice, but I don't really care as long as it's NOT Dusty Baker.
Pitching, of course, will be a huge problem. Losing Schmidt will hurt, and Sabean should be kicking himself for that idiotic Joe Nathan trade a couple of years ago.
Since they made that trade for Tucker, it's hard to see any hope here. I love my Giants, but it seems like they're fading fast.

OK this is only MY opinion and I believe that the Departure of Alou is a very good thing as he was a manager that was too Laid Back and did not have the PASSION to be a MAJOR LEAGUE manager..... This may not be popular BUT I think BARRY NEEDS TO GO!!!!!! He is a CANCER and the negitive is bringin down the team!!!!

Definetly get rid of Barry Bonds, he's gotten to old and taking up too much of their budget.
