It is a modifyed version of a woodburning stove. It has a hopper in the back which automatically feeds compressed sawdust pellets into a combustion chamber at the bottom of the stove at a set rate according to the level of heat you want. They do actually burn and there is a window in the front of the stove so you can see the fire. They consume a lot of pellets in a short time and the smoke smells like a pulpmill which is offensive, believe me. the pellets are expensive and you have to buy them in bulk to keep up with the stove.

a stove that burns wood pellets for fuel. They are made of various types of wood waste mostly, and can be bought cheaply in sacks at walmart and other stores. The stove itself has a fan and electric hoppper that loads the pellets in at an optimum rate. One problem is that when the power goes out so does the stove,or so ive heard.

Pellet-Burning Stoves
Pellet-burning stoves are fueled by wood pellets which are made from compressed wood and such agricultural waste as rice hulls and corn husks. The Pellets, which resemble rabbit food, are fed into the appliance's combustion chamber automatically, often controlled by a thermostat. Heat is usually delivered by a forced air system.
