It wouldn't embarrass me; I'd laugh along with them and spray some air freshener to add to the fun.

Yae ans no. First of all tel the people you work with that you can't help it if the chair makes farting noises. Tell one of them to sit on it and to see for themselves. Don't let this put you down. Maybe once while everyone else is on a lunch break, change the chairs so that u won't be bothered anymore.

Are you sure they're laughing at YOU? Or are they just laughing because anything that makes a fart noise is funny?

Try playing along with it next time. When your chair makes noise, say something like "ooo, sorry guys, too much breakfast burrito". Say it like you think the noise is funny too...chances are, if you're laughing too, it will become old news soon.

Don't you just HATE it when that happens? And you try to explain that it was the chair but you don't think that anyone believes you?
Can you trade your chair (if they are all alike) when no one is looking, maybe with the person who laughs the loudest? That would be a turn of events!!

Take advantage of the chair and fart away. You can always blame it on the chair.

I find the best solution is to stay late one day....and switch the chair with some other cubicle...then laugh at that person

LOL.....I would politely put in a request for a new chair and explain the reason why.

Give them a demonstration...that should help to clinch it....smile.

Bring in a little cloth cushion so you won't make the sound anymore.
